Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in Richmond

WITH DR. LLELENYS RIVERA RIVERA

Dr. Rivera completed a fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she obtained advanced education in the design and fabrication of facial and intraoral prostheses for patients who have lost structures in the head and neck, depending on the congenital or acquired defect.  The most predominant reason for the fabrication of these prostheses is cancer. Other reasons are car accidents, congenital abnormalities or trauma. Many times, the disabilities that occur from cancer, congenital abnormalities or a car accident cause the patient to have lack of confidence. They feel that people are staring and wondering what happened to them. It is difficult for these patients to lead normal lives. Dr. Rivera works with our patients to rebuild their confidence and restore their appearance.  Dr. Rivera has been trained to help patients repair their facial structure and function of the head, neck and mouth through fabrication of these custom prostheses.  There are other entities to consider pre-operatively and post-operatively, if you are contemplating cancer surgery or cancer therapy, including chemo therapy and radiation. We work with Oncologists to help our patients through treatment, which in-turn assists them through this time of uncertainty. Dr. Rivera would like to partner with you and your Physician in this restoration process and make this a positive experience for you. Call our friendly and informed Team Members to schedule a consultation appointment. Let us help you through this challenging time.
