Dr. Janer was involved in studying and researching bone dissection with the team working on the Space Lab-3 Flight Sample Utilization Program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Dr. Janer has a very extended family that spreads across several states and countries from Houston, Puerto Rico, Miami, Connecticut, Indiana, Spain, Venezuela, Argentina and France. He speaks Spanish at home with his parents who were both raised in Puerto Rico. He will tell you his family is a very typical Puerto Rican family. They have their meals together and always welcome any friends at the house during dinner time to stay and share the meal with their family. On several occasions, his Dad recalled his mother inviting people she had just met at HEB, when she heard their Puerto Rican accent, to Christmas Eve dinner. To this day, the family has friends that come to the house unannounced for a good espresso and to share lively conversations. There is never a dull moment at the Janer family home!
Dr. Janer spent many summers in the office working as a Dental Assistant for his mother, when he attended college. This is what ultimately sparked his interest in Dentistry. Dr. Janer chose Dentistry, because it combines his artistic expression with helping patients achieve beautiful smiles and flawless results. He enjoys restoring patients after they have lost their teeth giving them aesthetically pleasing outcomes with biologically healthy function. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a patient complete their treatment with the smile of their dreams. He will tell you, “This is what it’s all about!”
His mother graduated from Dental School the year before he was born, so Dentistry has always been part of Dr. Janer’s life. He loves science and has always enjoyed figuring out how things work. These interests coupled with his passion for art is the perfect combination for a career in Dentistry. This is why it is often referred to as: "The Art and Science of Dentistry.”

His Dad is the one who cooks every day at home, and his Mom is thankful for this. However, his Mom makes breakfast on weekends which includes Puerto Rican food, a family favorite.
Dr. Janer loves outdoor activities, including running, bicycling, fishing, working out and gardening the traditional way, with dirt, and hydroponically. He also enjoys wine and beer making, sculpture and painting. When he cooks, and he loves to cook, he makes the food look beautiful at the same time, like a piece of art, of course!
